What if I told you that luck has rules and anyone who follow those rules will always attract luck in their life.
Would you want to learn those rules?
Egosu is a Good Luck Charm from West Africa. The legend of Egosu is the story of a young man who met the goddess of luck and learned from her the "Rules of Luck" and "the path to a Good Life".
Discover the Legend of Egosu and LEARN HOW YOU CAN ALSO INCREASE YOUR LUCK!
Who:
Among the Ewe people (an ethnic group from West Africa) belief system, EGOSU is known as the African goddess of luck. The Legend of EGOSU is a philosophical myth passed down by oral tradition, which aims to encourage people to adopt certain behaviours that can contribute to a more fulfilling and meaningful life.
What:
Every culture has its own good luck charm. For example, there is the four-leaf clover in Ireland, the lucky cat in China and Japan, the rabbit's foot in the United States, and the mask of EGOSU in West Africa.
In the Legend of EGOSU it is said that the world of the Gods and the world of humans cannot mix. However, if a human knew the "face of a God" and sculpted that face in a physical material (e.g. wood, stone, bronze, gold etc.), that object could become a window from which the God could intervene in the life of the person.
For our first collection of EGOSU good luck charms, we will create beautiful handcrafted bronze accessories in the image of Egosu. These bronze accessories can be used as keychains or decorative accessories for purses and handbags.
EGOSU, THE AFRICAN GODDESS OF LUCK
For Egosu to fully manifest her presence in your life, there are two very important but simple steps to take:
It's important that you read her story in order to understand the rules of luck and the path to a Good Life.
The legend of Egosu is about an hour read (or you can listen to my non-English native accent reading it by clicking here) and I apologize in advance because I was told that nowadays people are not used to reading that much anymore or consume long form content but I want to believe you are different ;)
My promise to you from the bottom of my heart is that, by the time you finish reading or listening to her story, something within you will have changed for the better.
You need to carry with you something handcrafted in the image of Egosu to act as a window for her into your world.
I have partnered with a jeweller in Lomé (Togo, West Africa) to create the most beautiful bronze accessories in the image of Egosu. I want to begin this journey of revealing Egosu to the world by creating handcrafted bronze accessories that can be used as keychains or decorative accessories for purses and handbags.
EGOSU is the African goddess of luck the same way that the earth revolves around the sun. Both facts do not need our permission to exist. The difference, however, is that we were able to confirm one through science but due to a lack of proper measurement instruments, we can only choose the extent of our belief (or disbelief) in the other one. The late Rabbi lord Jonathan Sacks (1948-2020) said it best: “Science takes things apart to see how they work. Religion puts things together to see what they mean.”
EGOSU is not a cult nor a religion. At the very least, it is a system of belief that is available to anyone who is willing to listen. There are times in our lives when we feel like the world is against us, when we ask ourselves why things never go our way, when we feel alone in the middle of the crowd or simply when everything is ok, but we wouldn't mind if it was a little bit better. EGOSU is for anyone who wishes that their "tomorrow" to be better than their “today”.
Everyone is welcome to purchase. For some, it will simply be a beautiful exotic accessory; for others, a powerful good luck charm. And hopefully a few will even be interested in building together a community of people sharing a common belief and helping each other become the best versions of themselves. Whatever this is going to be for you, I am certain that as long as you practice the principles highlighted in the Legend of Egosu, you will undoubtedly find greater luck and happiness in your life!
My name is Didi and I am a Canadian citizen born in West Africa. I am currently in my mid-thirties and my family and I immigrated to Canada as political refugees when I was only 12 y/o. Although I grew up in Canada, fate, I guess, never allowed my soul to settle down, and I always saw myself as being "a victim of the interaction between my nature and life circumstances". That was until I met Egosu when I traveled to my birth country of Togo in January 2020.
For many years, I felt unlucky in my professional career, my relationships, my decisions and in the dreams I had for myself. I was disappointed in myself and by life. I was also unsure about the way forward so I decided to go backwards to the land where I was born hoping that somewhere amidst my roots I could find solace.
During a random walk in my native village, Mission Tove, I walked past a somewhat elderly woman who was selling different kinds of wooden sculptures and masks. Like every self-respecting shopkeeper, she invited me in. Since I also wasn't in a hurry, I agreed and followed her. She spoke our local language and I replied but she noticed my accent and asked me if I lived in America. I reluctantly said yes and was already expecting the usual questions: “how can I also go to America?”, or “I have a family member who wants to go to America, could you help?”. But, to my surprise, she just smiled and said “Welcome back”. I smiled back and thanked her.
She then proceeded to show me the different masks on the walls explaining what types of wood they were made of, the meaning of the sculptures, and the Gods they belonged to. The shop was small. I did not have to walk around to see everything, so I just stood there listening to her. But then, something caught my eye. It wasn't a sculpture, or a mask but it kind of looked like a shrine made of clay. I got closer to it and asked what it was. She paused and asked me if I knew the story of Jesus Christ, I said yes. And she asked, what about Prophet Mohamed? I replied saying more or less. Then she asked if I knew the story of Egosu? That time, I had to say no and I asked who is Egosu?
She smiled and said Egosu is everywhere, that Egosu has manifested Herself in every culture and in every age with different faces, different names, and different shapes but when she came to our village, she revealed herself to us as Egosu: the bringer of Luck. I have to admit, at that moment I felt a shiver run down my spine and maybe she also felt that something had changed in me because she asked, do you want to hear her story?
I remember that at that moment, I couldn't even speak, I just nodded my head in agreeance. We sat by the shrine, on small wooden stools, and she narrated to me the story of Egosu, the African Goddess of Luck. That story gave me hope and purpose as I hope it will give to you as well.
Please, don't forget to read or listened to the story of Egosu!
I am currently working with a jeweller to create the first 100 sets of handcrafted bronze accessories of Egosu's good-luck charms. Each set will have one representation of Egosu, the African goddess of luck, with her three disciples:
Nini, a cowry set in bronze represinting money and prosperity
Lele, two intertwined heart made of cooper represinting love and cooperation
Tutu, a turtle sculpted in bronze and marble represinting health and longevity
The price of each set will be between 40.00 and 50.00 Canadian Dollar. Everything will be handcrafted in Africa and shipped individually from Lomé to our clients’ locations.
To pre-order, please click here to enter your email address. When you provide your email address, I will personally get in touch with you to provide you with updates regarding the production process, get to know you and hopefully continue the conversation around the many teachings from EGOSU, the goddess of luck.
No payment will be required until the package is ready to be shipped. Also, in this context, a pre-order is not a contract, but is only an expression of interest. More than anyone, I understand that "life happens", so please be assured that placing a pre-order request is not a bidding contract.
I am definitely looking forward to making your acquaintance,
Sincerely,
Didi Kpelly
